I honestly did not feel that we moved forward much in this installment. Dru goes to a Schola in the boondocks, surrounded by all boys and the teachers refuse to teach her anything. She feels alone and ignored by everyone, including Graves. And then there is the continuing mystery of just who her mother was, what she was doing and why she died. Who was involved, as clearly someone in the Schola was? And now they are after Dru. Who can she trust? She chooses Christophe, for less than intelligent reasons. He still gives me the creeps. I like Graves far better than Christophe, just b/c Christophe tries too hard to be the cool, edgy, mysterious one, which only seems to result in his having no personality at all.
Hopefully the third installment in the Strange Angels
series, Jealousy, due this summer, will be more clarifying.
