Winnie-the-Pooh - A.A. Milne, Ernest H. Shepard These are endlessly charming and ever so appropriate for young children as both a read-aloud and a read-along. I loved these as a child, although I freely admit that Disney's classic "The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" had a great deal to do with that as their interpretation, especially the voices, were with me as we read the stories. That is one of the few very excellent book to film adaptations and one that enhances the charm and spirit of the stories and characters.
