The Iron Witch - Karen Mahoney Read as part of the 2011 Debut Author Challenge

I did not find myself in the least intrigued or compelled by these characters or the plot. The romance was annoying, the plot too slow in getting started and I have no patience to wait around and see where it might go from here.

I found Donna bland, her bestest friend cliche, our paranormal love interest so, so boring and yes, my one word to sum up this book is indeed "apathy". I really liked the concept of the Iron maiden/hands fairytale and I would have liked to have seen that played up more. As it was, so many reactions and decisions just did not make sense! Definitely will not be sticking around for the planned and utterly inevitable sequels.
