Well, it is based off of a folk song, and I love when people take something like that and reinvent it or spin it into a wholly realized novel, but this one fell short of my expectations. It never really grabbed my interest, I never connected with the protagonists and I did not care for the style overly much, especially as it rapidly switches viewpoints and you are not always immediately aware of whose thoughts you are reading. So, not one I would recommend, but it was not completely without merit. I did not throw it in the rubbish bin, now did I?
