If I Have a Wicked Stepmother, Where's My Prince? - Melissa Kantor Well, the "voice" of the narrator is fairly realistic and immediate, but not all that relatable. She annoyed me more than anything else. The best parts had to do with Lucy dealing with her Dad and new step-family, which were also the most humorous and heartfelt in my opinion. Her quest for a prince and then settling for slimy, repulsive Connor was frustrating, and I was thoroughly glad she was able to wise up a bit and dump him (or at least be okay with being dumped/ ignored by Connor once he chooses another girl) and recognize that Sam was a much more decent sort of human being. At the same time, as incredibly shallow as they were, I was also relieved to see that Jessica and Madison were not simply twits but were willing to still be Lucy's friends.
