The Reckoning - Kelley Armstrong 3.5 stars (The story is not yet really finished, with a lot left in the wind, so I am compelled to round down.)

Still, a good ending to this section of their story and I thought the character/ relationship development for Chloe (who remains one of my favorite teen protagonists ever) and Derek was done very well. Tori as well, though she needed more. Simon was the one shortchanged here. The plot was a bit easy to see, but the characters make up for it.

Now, what else does the Edison Group have up their sleeves? When will we be seeing Chloe and Derek and everyone again? When does Tori find out about her dad and brother? How wacky are their powers going to get? And what does that demon want with Chloe and when will he be coming for her?

Overall, I really like that the series is serious, but not dark and IMPORTANT. It takes things in such a way that you are not constantly waiting for the end of the world and all your characters to be brutally tortured and then killed off one by one to show how serious and dramatic and meaningful the series is. Which is so unspeakably relieving. So, I'll be reading the next trilogy about the Project Phoenix kids, but what I really want is the rest of Chloe's story. Here is to hoping it is soon and handled with excellence:)
