I liked this companion book to MISTWOOD well enough, though it was certainly not what I was expecting. Most of all, Clarisse was not who I hoped that she would be. Again, the lead male feels weak and insubstantial when compared to all these strong, feisty, vibrant girls around him. Which is awesome, don't mistake me, but I would like some strong male characters who deserve to be in the same story as these ladies. That said, I liked the sisters and their relationship, even their brother, but the concept of the dead/ghost kingdom just did not translate well for me. It was fine, but not one I would feel compelled to read again.
